Itanagar, India Jul 15, 2026 ALN: ITANAGAR, 14 Jul: The All Students’ Union (AAPSU) has constituted a committee to study, oversee and monitor the implementation of the special intensive review (SIR) of electoral rolls being undertaken by the Election Commission of India (ECI) across the state.

An 8-member AAPSU committee, headed by Nabam Gandhi (VP, protocol) as chairman, will study, oversee and monitor the implementation of the SIR across the state. The committee will also liaise with district students’ unions, local stakeholders and authorities to facilitate smooth implementation. It will identify practical challenges, anomalies or procedural issues, and bring the same to the notice of the competent authorities, ensuring that the legitimate interests of eligible citizens are protected, so that no deserving voter is left out of the electoral rolls due to procedural or administrative lapses.
