Erosion of editorial independence
AILens News is an independent news organization founded on May 26, 2018, by Yasika Basnett, under the umbrella of Moris Media Media Private Limited, a not-for-profit company established on May 1, 2018. Built on the foundation of journalistic integrity and digital innovation, AILens News was created to address a growing gap in the media—truthful, context-rich reporting not influenced by political affiliations, corporate interests, or advertiser agendas.
At the heart of its operations lies a clear mission:
To deliver editorially and financially independent journalism, supported by readers and
citizens rather than advertisers
or institutional sponsors. This independence allows AILens News to prioritize editorial
judgment, free from interference
by proprietors, politicians, or officials—an approach increasingly rare in today’s media
environment.
The organization first took shape as a small AI research project, exploring how technology could be used to improve media literacy and filter out misinformation. What began in experimental form quickly developed into a structured digital newsroom. Through the use of artificial intelligence, AILens News now curates, summarizes, and publishes stories with precision—focusing on clarity, fact-verification, and relevance. However, while technology assists, it is never allowed to override human editorial insight.
AILens News delivers content that includes technology, innovation, global affairs, and business, reaching audiences who seek reliable, contextual, and unbiased reporting. Its readers include decision-makers, professionals, and individuals who prefer thoughtful journalism over sensationalism.
The platform has gained recognition for its ability to cut through the noise, offering fact-checked, AI-curated reporting that doesn’t chase algorithms but serves the public interest. It acknowledges the real problems that have plagued traditional media:
Erosion of editorial independence
Rise of paid content
Declining newsroom investments
Increasing editorial bias and short-term influence-driven publishing
In response, AILens News has chosen a different model—one that leans on reader support, not revenue targets. Its primary goal is to sustain high-quality journalism that balances timely reporting with in-depth analysis, offering commentary and insights grounded in fact and research.
The organization’s content is enhanced through modern storytelling tools, including data visuals, interactive charts, explainer videos, and audio features, aiming to make complex issues accessible without oversimplifying them. This integration of new media technologies reflects AILens News’s forward-thinking approach—combining traditional reporting values with the evolving habits of today’s readers.
While it continues to grow, AILens News remains anchored in its original
purpose:
To produce independent, ethical, and responsible journalism, curated with the assistance
of
AI, but directed by people
who believe in truth, accountability, and public trust.
From a modest research project exploring media literacy, AILens News evolved into a digital publication that filters the noise and delivers stories that matter. Whether it’s politics, global affairs, innovation, science, business, or social justice—we report what’s important, not just what’s trending.
Our Mission Is Anchored In A Simple Yet Powerful Principle: Truth Matters.
To Become The Most Trusted Digital News Source Where Technology Supports Integrity, And Facts Outshine Fiction.
At a time when paid content and sensationalism often overshadow facts, AILens News aims to do the opposite—present verified, contextual, and meaningful journalism, using technology as an ally rather than a replacement.
