Conrad K. Sangma Inaugurates Development Projects Worth ₹146 Crore in Sohiong

Sangma on Saturday inaugurated the CM Connect Centre at Sohiong C&RD Block and laid foundation stones for multiple development projects totalling over ₹146 crore. The programme, held at Mawtap Pyllun Ground, was attended by Community and Rural Development Minister Sosthenes Sohtun, Sohiong MLA Synshar Kupar Roy Lyngdoh Thabah, and district officials.

Addressing the gathering, the chief minister stated that eight completed projects worth ₹5.48 crore were dedicated to the public, while foundation stones were laid for nine new initiatives valued at ₹140.74 crore. This significant investment in development projects reflects the government's ongoing commitment to improve infrastructure and services in rural areas, particularly in the Sohiong region, which has historically faced various developmental challenges. This commitment aligns with broader national policies aimed at enhancing rural development and ensuring that the benefits of growth reach the most underserved communities.

The inaugurated projects include a Block Resource Centre, a plastic waste management unit, an Agricab facility for post-harvest storage, and collective marketing centres at Nongur and Jamynthlen.
