SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg on Tuesday visited Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar, to inspect the ongoing preparations for the Independence Day celebrations at the venue. This annual event, celebrated on August 15, marks the day when India gained independence from British rule in 1947. It is a significant occasion for the nation, celebrated with flag hoisting ceremonies, parades, and cultural programs across the country. During the inspection, the Divisional Commissioner took stock of various arrangements, including seating arrangements, functioning of the Public Address System, overhead covering of the stands, and adherence to protocol during the signing of the National Song followed by the National Anthem. This includes the operational readiness of the Fire & Emergency dewatering pump at the venue. Rain can disrupt outdoor events, and having a contingency plan in place is essential to prevent any inconvenience to attendees and participants alike. Additionally, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir and other senior officers of Police and Security agencies were also present on the occasion.
